Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic Therapy is a unique form of rehabilitation administered in a pool. Patient issues such as joint replacement, arthritis, non-weight bearing, balance enhancement, lymphodema, strengthening, and range of motion exercises can all be addressed.

Warm water facilitates muscle relaxation and increases peripheral circulation. Viscosity of water provides resistance for strength training. Warm water stimulates body awareness, balance, and trunk stability.  Hydrostatic pressure is a wonderful benefit of aquatic therapy. Hydrostatic pressure is the force exerted on the immersed body by fluid molecules.

Performing physical rehabilitation and exercise in water utilizes several principles and has a number of benefits that will speed recovery, boost your muscle performance, and help to reduce acute and chronic pain.
