Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapist provides an integrated, goal-oriented team approach to improve your child’s skills that are used during his or her daily life.

Patients referred for occupational therapy are evaluated to determine their interests, daily routines, goals, sense of competency, and level of skill in achieving daily activities.

Therapy is then designed to maintain or restore daily life tasks and minimize the effects of disability through adaptation.

Occupational therapy interventions

  • Milestone development facilitation
  • Exercises, stretching, and coordination treatment
  • Self-care training
  • Sensation, coordination, perception, memory or thought training
  • Strategies to overcome or improve architectural barriers in the home or community
  • Training & help with wheelchairs, motorized scooters, or other adaptive equipment
  • Training & help with arm, forearm, hand, knee, ankle, and/or foot orthoses (braces)
